Ripon Workhouse dates back to the 1700's and was home to the destitute and the homeless. The poor people that entered the workhouse gates suffered horrific cruelty and harsh treatment including hard labour, solitary confinement and solitude with most never leaving alive!
The paranormal activity experienced here can only be described as terrifying and is encased with an oppressive atmosphere that seeps from the walls. Unhappy spirits communicate their horrific treatment in many ways with pained screamed being heard, creepy whispers and an oppressive feeling of being watched.
