We meet in the cemetery annually on the last Saturday of April each year to prepare the grounds for the first mowing and review any cemetery business. We'll be picking up limbs, trash, and old decorations. We are usually done before 11a depending on the condition of the cemetery and the number of volunteers who come to help. Donations for the upkeep of the cemetery are always welcome and maybe directed to Ripley Oak Park Cemetery Association, Jerri Shoup Arthur, Secretary/Treasurer, 2015 E 92nd St, Perkins, OK 74059, (405-747-7274), jshpart@provalue.net Please share this with your family and friends who have an interest in the cemetery. Cemetery Associations (Volunteers) around the world are preparing the burial grounds of our ancestors for the upcoming Memorial Day! This is your invitation to participate in person and/or through your donations at the Ripley Oak Park Cemetery or a cemetery where your family and/or friends are buried. Your help is appreciated year-round, so if you aren't prepared to help us in April, pick another month during the year to come clean up trash or send a donation! Here are suggestions for anytime of the year or when it fits in your schedule: **Spray around your family plot to reduce the weeds and W**d eating needs; **Level out the ground, mole hills, etc., uncover monuments and curbs that have become buried overtime; **Remove your decorations within 30 days of placing them if they interfere with mowing or weedeating; **Repaint fencing or blocks that mark your family plot; **Pick stickers and remove by placing in burn barrel; **Pick up limbs, sticks and trash anywhere inside the cemetery grounds (we provide a burn barrel); We have a few bigger projects we could use your help with if you'd like to volunteer, please contact us.
