This time, in the company of Andrew Jefford - one of the world’s most respected wine writers and critics - we will discover the most exciting contemporary tastes and stories from France. ??

Since the release of Andrew’s landmark book The New France: A Complete Guide to Contemporary French Wine in 2002, both France and the wine world have undergone a dramatic transformation. Over more than 20 years, winemakers, climate, wine lovers’ tastes, fashion and critics, drinking habits, the value of money and the economy, laws and regulations - all have changed. Generations have shifted, the French themselves have changed, and so has the world.

? What is the New France and what defines its wines? To find out, we will listen to Andrew’s insights and, together with the culinary creations of B7 and Chef Valters Zirdziņš, taste a selection of outstanding wines that embody the New France.

Who is Andrew Jefford? ?
Andrew Jefford is one of the world’s leading wine critics. Since 2020 he has been an honorary member of the Latvian Wine of the Year jury, and since 2013 a regular guest at the Riga Wine & Champagne festival. Jefford is the author of numerous award-winning books (The New France, Wine Course, Drinking with the Valkyries, and more), a seven-time Louis Roederer Award winner, columnist for Decanter, co-chair of the Decanter World Wine Awards jury, editor at The World of Fine Wine, and wine columnist for the Financial Times. He has long lived with his family in the Montpellier region of Southern France.
