On April 29, Canadian experimental musician chik white will perform at the 1983 bar (Vagonu street 21). The concert begins at 20:30, and tickets will be available at the door for 7 EUR. The concert is organised by the Skaņu Mežs association, as part of its concert series 1-2 Cauri!.

In 2009, chik white’s music took a minimalist turn when Spidle moved to Chezzetcook, on the rural coast of Nova Scotia. Around that time, he acquired a collection of handmade jaw harps and began a regular ritual of improvising on the instruments in natural settings. Over time, his harp project evolved into experimental territory, incorporating a visceral, freeform approach that explores harmonics, texture, breathwork, and sound poetry.

29. aprīlī bārā “1983” (Vagonu ielā 21) uzstāsies kanādiešu avangarda mūziķis “chik white” jeb Dārsijs Spaidls (Darcy Spidle). Koncerts sākas plkst. 20.30. Biļetes būs nopērkamas pie ieejas, un to cena būs 7 EUR. Koncerts notiek biedrības “Skaņu mežs” koncertsērijas “1-2 cauri!” ietvaros. 

Dārsijs Spaidls sāka uzstāties ar skatuves vārdu “chik white” 2004. gadā, kad kļuva par vokālistu Helifeksas “crust‑punk” grupā “The Hold”. Šis projekts ilga piecus gadus un tā laikā tika izdoti  divi albumi, vairāki singli un minialbumi, kā arī grupa devās vairākās koncertturnejās. Ar šo pašu segvārdu viņš vēlāk piedalījās tādos trokšņu mūzikas projektos kā “Vennt”, “Attack Mode” un “Shitcook”. Spaidls kā aktieris ir piedalījies arī kinoprojektos “Lowlife”, “Tin Can” un “The Sinner”.

2009. gadā Spaidls sāka dzīvot Jaunskotijas lauku piekrastē, un “chik white” mūzika attīstījās minimālistiskā virzienā. Šajā periodā viņš sāka veidot vargānu kolekciju un ar šiem kompaktajiem, savdabīgi skaudrajiem instrumentiem ierakstīt improvizācijas dabā un interesantās lokācijās. Spaidls šīs improvizācijas dēvē par rituāliem, kas kā pieturpunktus izmanto dekonstruētas harmonijas, uzsvaru uz tekstūru, dažādas elpas tehnikas un interesi par skaņu mākslu.
