Lietuviešu mākslinieks Benedikts Marija Žukas (dzimis 1992. gadā, Viļņā) pārstāv jauno abstrakcijas vilni, strādājot ar procesa glezniecību un pētot krāsas, formas un materialitātes afektīvo potenciālu. Žukas darbi, skatītājam atklāj dinamisku žestu un ģeogrāfijas mijiedarbību, iedzīvina kustību, spriedzi un arī nepiespiestu brīnuma sajūtu. Žukas ir ieguvis maģistra grādu glezniecībā Viļņas Mākslas akadēmijā un savus darbus izstādījis personālizstādēs Antverpenē (Conscience 20 un Gert Voorjans galerijās) un Viļņā (Laikmetīgās mākslas galerijā Meduza un Vlada Vildžiūna mākslas galerijā), kā arī piedalījies grupu izstādēs Lietuvā un Beļģijā. Šī ir mākslinieka pirmā personālizstāde Latvijā.

You are warmly invited to the opening of Benediktas Marija Žukas’s solo exhibition “Mother of pearl” at galerija ASNI, Riga, Friday, November 7, from 18:00 to 21:00.

Benediktas Marija Žukas (b. 1992, Vilnius), a Lithuanian artist representing a new wave of abstraction, engages with process-based painting and the affective potential of color, form, and materiality. Žukas’ works reveal a dynamic interplay between gesture and geography, alive with movement, tension, and an unselfconscious sense of wonder. This marks artists first solo exhibition in Latvia. 

Žukas holds Master’s degree in painting from Vilnius Academy of Arts and has exhibited his work in solo exhibitions in Antwerp (Conscience 20 and Gert Voorjans galleries) and Vilnius (Contemporary Art Gallery Meduza and Vladas Vildžiūnas Art Gallery), as well as in group exhibitions in Lithuania and Belgium. This marks artists first exhibition in Latvia.
