Do you want to get in on the excitement of the NCAA tournament but don’t know anything about basketball?

Are you tired of having your bracket busted after the first weekend when your team loses? 

Are you tired of getting stuck with a 5 and a 2 in your block pools?  

If the answer is yes to any or all of those questions, then the Notre Dame de Lourdes Basketball Block Pool is for you!

 

It works exactly like a football block pool, but instead of two designated teams, there is a “Winning Team” and a “Losing Team.”  There are no bad numbers because many combinations are just as likely to happen in basketball.  And best of all, you can win multiple times in multiple rounds!

Here are two examples of ways to win:

Final Score: Duke 75, North Carolina 73 – the winning block would be Winning Team 5, Losing Team 3. 

Final Score: St. Joe’s 87, Villanova 77 - the winning block would be Winning Team 7, Losing Team 7. 

 

The cost to enter is $100 per block, which can also be split among friends. Just Venmo the money to @NDDLschool and specify how you’d like your name listed in the block.  We can pick a block for you at random or you can choose by counting over from left to right, then top to bottom.  

With 63 total games and a winner for the halftime score of the final game, there are 64 total chances to win, and many will win more than once!  Last year, there were 47 individual winners, which means there were 17 people who won multiple times. 

The prizes are as follows:

Round 1: $25 each for 32 winners
Round 2: $50 each for 16 winners
Sweet 16: $100 each for 8 winners
Elite 8: $200 each for 4 winners
Final 4: $350 each for 2 winners
Championship Halftime: $100 for 1 winner
Championship Final: $1000 for 1 winner

**Note that prizes will be sent through the Venmo account that originally paid and will happen after every two rounds (once after first two rounds, once after Elite 8, and once after the final).
