Metropolitan Klezmer

Thirty years of joyous, genre-hopping Yiddish music. Founded in 1994 by drummer and Yiddish-film scholar Eve Sicular, this New York octet reinvents tradition — wedding-dance tunes, swing, tango, and scores from vintage Yiddish cinema, all played with what Time Out New York calls a scholarly love of the music that never loses its exuberance. ?

Free and family-friendly. Bring blankets, chairs and a picnic.

Part of CHIRP's 25th Anniversary Season. ?
