That’s right, Ridgefield-
Candy Cane Lane is back!!! ❤️🤍❤️🤍
Date/Time: Sunday, Dec. 7th from 5-8pm
What is Candy Cane Lane you ask?
It is a true labor of love and holiday spirit from a street of 34 homes. Over the years many of the residents on 34th Court came together to decorate for the holidays in an effort to bring joy to the community. As more and more people began coming by to enjoy the lights and decorations, the HOA jumped on board and created an event to add to the fun!
This event is FREE. Nothing advertised has a cost associated. We want everyone in our community to be able to have a moment to enjoy some holiday magic without the stress of funding the experience.
Although typically you can either walk or drive through Candy Cane Lane, on event night this is a Walking Only experience.
What you can expect to find:
❤️ Cookies at our welcome center.
🤍 Hot cocoa carts for a sweet warm up!
❤️ A visit with Santa (bring your phone/camera to take some pictures! This year we are lucky to have a very special Santa.)
🤍 A professional band at our music tent, who will pause occasionally so all the kiddos can come up and join us to sing classic Christmas tunes!
❤️ Other character appearances. Watch out for the Grinch! Rumor has it Buddy The Elf may even stop by.
🤍 A donation area at our welcome center accepting new or gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarves and other winter wear which will be donated to our own Ridgefield Family Resource Center to be shared with local families. Monetary donations will be accepted as well.
❤️ Face painting fun.
🤍 LOTS of lights and holiday cheer.
❤️ Fun surprises throughout the street! Will it ‘snow’ again this year??
Some important things to note:
❤️ Please be aware that the event itself is 100% paid for by funds from our generous sponsors. If you have a good time, take a moment to thank them, and definitely consider supporting their businesses. They truly believe in community. We’ll be taking some time on this event page to share more information about them, and you can find signs at the event to let you know who they are as well.
🤍 There is NO official event parking. This also means no designated handicapped parking. We are a street within a greater neighborhood, so street parking is the only availability unless you are lucky enough to live in Pioneer Canyon, or have friends or family here willing to share their driveways. We highly suggest walking, carpooling, being ready to walk a bit and bringing your patience. PLEASE be respectful of our neighbors and ensure you park legally and don’t block driveways.
❤️ Though we understand the desire to beat the crowds, we ask that you do not arrive prior to the 5pm event time. Our vendors and volunteers are working diligently to prepare the event in the hours before 5pm, and we kindly request that you respect their time and space so that we can provide a full, magical experience for all.
🤍 Again, on event night ONLY this is a pedestrian only event. If you want to drive through, feel free to come drive the street any other night in December. But it is walking only on the evening of December 7th.
❤️ Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome to come join the fun.
🤍 Don’t like crowds? Can’t make the event? Don’t worry!! Lights will be on all month! Come by any time to enjoy the ambiance at your leisure. (Note that we do not have any mandates regarding lights in this community. All participation is optional. We encourage neighbors to have their lights on but we cannot guarantee everyone will have things on at any given time).
❤️ We don’t have any tents for advertising or sales at the event. We eternally get scammers in the comments section of posts stating we are looking for vendors for a fee. We will delete them as we see them. But please do not respond to any posts searching for vendors. If you feel uncertain, contact Amy Watt directly.
🤍 We are a small group of volunteers who do this solely with the generosity of local businesses who sponsor us. We are always looking for sponsors to help us continue doing this every year. Feel free to reach out to an event host if you’re interested in sponsorship!
In closing:
Please let us know if you have any questions! We will respond asap, but all 3 board members work and have kiddos, so we ask for your patience if you don’t hear back immediately.
We are SO excited to see you on December 7th!! And we’d love to see your photos and videos after the event!!!! ❤️🤍❤️🤍
