Peter is a scholar, musician, and singer with a particular interest and expertise in early keyboard instruments of which he has a great collection. These will feature in his lectures on Nocturnes in Music and Art. He will start with John Field, the composer of the earliest nocturnes, and from there we will be taken on a musical journey with evocative art works as an accompaniment. Peter is a top notch lecturer and accomplished pianist. This study morning will be one of the highlights of the year. We do hope you will join us!Meeting place - ​​​We will meet downstairs in Duke Street Church, Duke Street, Richmond TW9 1DH. Use the door at the side of the church in Quadrant Road. If that door is closed, walk 5 yards further on and go through the archway on the left into the church's private car park.Meeting date - Thursday 30th October 2025Meeting time - Please be there from 9.30am in time for a 10am start.09.30 Registration10.00 - 11.00 Our lectures begin11.00 - 11.30 Break. Coffee and biscuits will be served.11.30 - 12.45 Second lectureThe cost is £23. You will be emailed a ticket but you do not need to show it on arrival as we will have a list of names. You are most welcome to invite friends and family to buy a ticket.Our lecturer - Peter appears in the UK and abroad as a musician and scholar, giving recitals and delivering illustrated lectures on music and the arts.
