Enjoy morning movement in nature, learn about the current progress and future projects of a new Southside Richmond park, and feel the significant temperature relief from the day's rising temperature under the canopy. At each walk, we will provide you with a different infographic about the benefits of urban greening, which is part of the free Spreading Roots toolkit. 

When are the walks?

Join us every Wednesday in August for a walk under the canopy.

Feel free to stay for as little or as long as you like!

Where are the walks?

Using your GPS, navigate to 2913 Ernest Rd. Parking will be available on the street in a residential neighborhood. Please do not block driveways or mailboxes. Once parked, you’ll walk down the grassy path with the “No Parking” sign and follow the path to the right. Please note that the path leading to the park may be muddy and slippery if it recently rained.

What should I bring?

Long pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Dress for the weather and use sun protection.

Do I need to sign up?

Yes! Please sign up for any walks in the series you plan to attend through CFengage. There’s one registration form for all walks at Ernest Road Park. In September, don’t miss our urban forest walking series at Reedy Creek Wetland. If you have any questions about this urban walking series, please email Lisa at lisa@southsidereleaf.org.
