The Naval Academy Brass Trio will perform on Thursday, February 26th at 7:00pm in the Singleton Center for the Performing Arts.
The performance will feature works by Bela Bartok, Anthony Plog, Eric Ewazen, Kevin Mckee, Richard Strauss, and Chris Evan Hass.
About MU1 Christopher Phelps - Horn:
In 2019, Phelps auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band. Following recruit training at RTC Great Lakes, he reported to Annapolis in 2020 for duty as horn instrumentalist with the marching band and ceremonial units, wind ensemble, brass ensemble, and brass quintet. He also serves as Assistant Educational Outreach Coordinator, as well as the band’s Command Financial Specialist and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Division Head.
Phelps is a recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and Navy Good Conduct Medal.
About MU1 Andrew Lyster - Trombone/Euphonium:
In 2021, Lyster auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band where he reported for duty as euphonium instrumentalist to Annapolis following Veterans’ training at RTC Great Lakes. He performs with the marching band, ceremonial units, wind ensemble, brass ensemble, trombone ensemble, and brass quintet. He also serves as Library Assistant and Minor Property Assistant.
Lyster's awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Navy Good Conduct Medal.
