Music on the Main
Our longest running event series. Since 2001, this concert series has brought thousands of people Downtown to enjoy a night on the town filled with music, food, and family fun. Each concert features a variety of musical performances, arts and crafts activities for children, local entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations, and food. Music on the Main is a critical tool that Richmond Main Street uses to engage the community, provide business opportunities to local entrepreneurs and district merchants, and build a strong arts and entertainment district.

Andre Thierry, a Richmond, California native with deep Louisiana French-Kreole roots, is a self-taught accordion virtuoso who began performing at a young age. Immersed in Zydeco and Cajun traditions through family gatherings and performances with top Louisiana musicians, he founded his band, Zydeco Magic, by age 12.
Renowned for his versatile and soulful style, Thierry blends traditional Zydeco with blues, funk, and global influences, defying genre boundaries. He's been praised by The Washington Post and Zydeco historian Michael Tisserand as a modern-day standard-bearer for the tradition.
His discography includes standout albums like A Whole Lotta Somthin and Bouncin With The Blues, and his collaborations span genres and artists such as Sammy Hagar and David Hidalgo. As the first American to perform at Germany’s Akkordeonale Festival, he has brought his "Accordion Soul" to international audiences, earning acclaim for his magnetic live performances and genre-fusing artistry.
