This talk will cover the historical significance and resurfacing of some of the pieces associated with Marie Antoinette, and those currently exhibited at the V&A.As France's last queen, Marie Antoinette’s legendary collection of diamonds, pearls, and precious keepsakes captured both the imagination and scandal of a nation. Her jewels have a legacy of scarcity, survival, and immense value, with many pieces lost during the French Revolution and later resurfacing through smuggling and inheritance.Drawing inspiration from the V&A’s groundbreaking  exhibition, "Marie Antoinette Style", featuring items never before seen outside France, we’ll discover how her treasures continue to inspire and captivate well into the 21st century.
