- **Event Description**: OzFish, Australia’s only fish habitat restoration charity is offering locals keen to join them for a free weekend of camping, fishing and habitat restoration learning.

The OzFish Experience Campout weekend will be held at the beautiful Grose River on 1 – 3 May 2026.

Over two days, participants will learn the hands-on techniques OzFish has used to restore 100 hectares of seagrass meadows, build 20 hectares of oyster reef and make 184 kilometres of riverbank more fishable.

The weekend blends short skill sessions with plenty of time to get some fishing done, where we’ll wind down so members can swap ideas, compare notes and plan local projects for 2026.

These campouts are about building confident, connected chapter leaders who know how to turn good ideas into on-ground action. Our members leave with practical skills and the momentum to improve their home waterways.

This Grose River event follows successful OzFish Experience Campouts at Evans Head, Patonga and Sandon River, where members had the chance to learn about macroinvertebrate and water quality monitoring, oyster ecology, saltmarsh care and community leadership.

It is set to be the first campout in the region of OzFish’s newest chapter, making it a prime opportunity to grow connections and kickstart member-led projects within Western Sydney.
