This has evolved into one of the few Battalion histories of the Yorkshire Regiment, and one of the even fewer projects focussing on the unsung heroes of Great War service, the Pioneers, the men digging the trenches, laying the roads, and generally building the infrastructure on which an Army depends. But don’t be fooled, this work was done in close proximity to the enemy as many a western front cemetery can attest.Join us to listen to his fascinating story.
