About the event

Community Town Hall: What Comes Next for Chevron’s Community Action Plan
Community Town Hall on Chevron’s CAP: Join us May 13 to discuss air quality, flaring, and community priorities in Richmond.

About this Event

Hosted by Ceres Policy Research, in collaboration with Chevron Richmond Refinery

Join us for a collaborative follow-up meeting at CoBiz Richmond, hosted by Ceres Policy Research. This community town hall builds on our earlier event—“Shaping the Future of Chevron’s Strategy for Community”—and continues the public engagement process tied to Chevron’s settlement with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) in February 2024.

This meeting is your opportunity to stay informed, ask questions, and help shape the ongoing Community Action Plan (CAP). We’ll present recent updates on flaring incidents, Chevron’s air quality compliance efforts, and new commitments to community transparency under the Rule 6-5 agreement.

Event Highlights:

  • Presentation from Chevron Richmond Refinery on flaring activity, air quality performance, and updates on improvements to public information systems.
  • Community Action Plan (CAP) Overview led by members of the CAP planning committee and Ceres facilitators.
  • Interactive Breakout Discussions focused on real-time alerts, environmental health concerns, and accountability strategies.
  • Public Comment Period to voice your experiences, ideas, and concerns directly to the CAP team and Chevron representatives.

This event is part of an ongoing commitment to ensure Richmond residents are centered in the planning and implementation of long-term environmental protections and transparency measures.

Why Attend?

  • Stay up to date on Chevron’s progress and the CAP process.
  • Share your feedback on what information and protections matter most to you.

Who Should Attend?

  • Richmond residents impacted by refinery activity or concerned about air quality
  • Local leaders, environmental justice advocates, and neighborhood council members
  • Anyone interested in greater transparency and community partnership with Chevron

Light dinner and refreshments will be provided.
