Our community hikes are a great way to get to know us, make new friends, and spend some time in nature - especially in winter.Logistics? Starting point: Richmond tube/train station (various lines)? End point: Wimbledon Park station (district line)? When: 10AM on 4th January 2026 - meeting at 10 AM for 10:15 AM departure? Cost: Free? What We’ll See Along the Way:We begin near the River Thames, grab a coffee or hot drink and soak up the calmer side of Richmond before entering the vast expanse of Richmond Park — London’s largest Royal Park at over 1,000 hectares. Here we’ll wander through ancient woodland and open grassland, keeping an eye out for:Free-roaming deerWildflowers and ancient trees in their winter formsA wide variety of birdlifeLeaving the park, the route continues across Wimbledon and Putney Commons, a 460-hectare stretch of woodland, heath, scrub, and ponds. This protected landscape feels surprisingly wild and is home to rich flora, birdlife, and seasonal colour. From the commons, we'll walk through quieter residential streets, and near the world famous Wimbledon courts before finishing at Wimbledon Park Station.?
