Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast - 2026

The 2026 Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast is just six weeks away! Tickets for the Breakfast on January 14, 2026 are now available.

For 60 years, the Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast has been held on the day when the General Assembly convenes and the Governor delivers the State of the Commonwealth address. It is fitting to start such an important day by acknowledging our dependence on our Creator.

The 2026 Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast will focus on how each of us can do justice with a humble and merciful spirit. The teachings of Jesus shine a light on a common vision for all, no matter our political labels or faith traditions. We are called to “proclaim the good news” by serving our neighbors. We have been given much and therefore we are called to share those gifts with others (Luke 12:48). By doing so joyfully, our prayer is that 2026 will become “the year of the Lord’s favor”.

Our speakers this year are well known to fans of the Washington Redskins. Pro Football Hall of Fame member Art Monk and Tim Johnson once played together as Super Bowl champions. Now they work together in ministry, bringing hope and healing to many. You will be inspired by their message.

Every four years the Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast also heralds an important transition, coming just days before the inauguration of our new Governor. We will have the opportunity to hear from outgoing Governor Glenn Youngkin and to pray for Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger and her administration.

The Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast will be on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. in the Greater Richmond Convention Center Ballroom. Individual tickets are $50. Please consider hosting a table of 10 for $500. You may purchase tickets by credit card online at https://CPB2026.eventbrite.com.

Our nation – and indeed our world -- is divided today in many ways, and we face significant challenges. Yet, through faith there is much to be thankful for. We will be inspired as we are led in prayer by our Commonwealth’s leaders. As the new year begins, we look forward to sharing this special time with you.
