A Day Of Sharing Community Outreach
Once again, RVA Humble Beginnings is partnering with Wendy Roundy of Helping The Homeless and Joseph Matthews to provide food and groceries to individuals in our community in need of a helping hand.
SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE OBSERVED AND MASKS WILL BE AVAILABLE.
Setup will begin at 3:00 pm and food will be served at 3:30 pm in the parking lot of the Richmond Alternative School located at 119 West Leigh Street.
ITEMS TO BRING: You may serve prepared foods at the event or distribute pre-packaged foods that can be eaten later.
--> Favorite prepared foods include chicken, chili, macaroni and cheese, green beans, soups, salads, hotdogs, hamburgers, boiled eggs, chicken salad, etc. NOTE: Please bring the necessary items for serving such as plates, bowls, utensils, napkins, as well as a trash bag to help clean up the area before we leave.
--> Favorite pre-packaged items include crackers, soft fruits (bananas, grapes, berries), nuts, applesauce, sandwiches, chips, popcorn, cookies, water, juice, etc.
I expect we will be serving approximately 125 people. You DO NOT need to plan for that many people since there will be multiple volunteers contributing to the event. Any non-perishable items remaining after the event MAY be donated to RVA Humble Beginnings for future events. Perishable items will be distributed at various locations throughout the Greater Richmond Area until gone.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are planning to bring any items (other than food) PLEASE contact me BEFORE the event, or before you set up on the day of the event. Together we can decide how best to distribute non-food items.
