Unlike those attention-hogging periodical cicadas who make everyone wait 13 or 17 years, we celebrate Richmond's *annual* cicadas, our reliable summer screamers who show up every year. The Cicada Parade is a joyful, modestly organized celebration of our clumsy, love-drunk, and loudly passionate cicada friends.

Dress like a cicada. Strap on some wings. Kazoo a terrible love song. Prance through the neighborhood with a bunch of other cicadas. Embrace the moment. Live like you have one goal and the clock is ticking.

 - We're looking for a few volunteer Cicada Wranglers to carry flags, help guide the parade along the route, and keep our wandering cicadas together. 
 - No previous cicada-wrangling experience required.

 - Costumes and/or wings are highly encouraged, but not required.
 - Cicada Parade kazoos will be available for a nominal cost.
 - Cicada Parade T-shirts and stickers will also be available for purchase.
 - Route, timing, costume inspiration, merchandise details, and other important cicada business will be shared soon.
