- **Event Description**: The City of Richland Planning Commission is revisiting parking reform in their December 10th meeting.

The original proposal they saw in September removed off-street parking minimums through the whole city. This came from City Council giving staff the recommendation to proceed that direction after an extensive study by Kimley-Horn on the Central Business District. At that September meeting the commission brought up a variety of issues and ultimately sent it back to staff to focus on the Central Business District.

That gets us back to today. The new proposal is a watered down one that removes minimums in the Central Business District while updating elsewhere only to the meet the new state requirements.

We think this is a mistake and a missed opportunity. If you agree, and would like to make a public comment in support of removing off-street parking minimums through the whole city, come out to the meeting on December 10th.
