Photographer John Lacko will explore many of the route’s fascinating, yet little known histories and details.

About the Presenter:
When your only grandkids are 2000 miles west, your opportunity for a classic road trip is dumped into your lap. So for almost 20 years, John and Nancy Lacko have been driving west each year, first to Phoenix, then to California. As a photographer with fascination for Route 66, John realized his golden opportunity and started documenting
the “Mother Road.”

John has been photographing since 1965 starting with drag racing. Along the way John was a photojournalist in the USAF, Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra photographer for 26 years, Kalamazoo Gazette photo contributor for almost 20 years and had numerous other community and corporate clients. John has taught photography at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, K College, WMU and Norman Camera. He has been making a Route 66 presentation during the Gilmore Car Museums Speaker Series every 3 years or so, updating it every time.

Note to Attendees: Because this program is happening outside of library hours, access to the library may be limited. This includes lights being off, doors being locked and circulation services being down.
