Stephen Stott is a grief educator, certified somatic breathwork practitioner, and founder of Embrace The Darkness LLC, an organization dedicated to providing compassionate, body-centered support for those navigating grief and trauma. With over a decade of experience as a social worker, Stephen has supported individuals facing diverse life challenges, including sudden loss, suicide, and complex trauma. His own journey began with the profound loss of his sister in a car accident at age 16, an experience that deepened his empathy for those who experience grief in ways that can feel isolating or overwhelming.
This Breathing Through Grief session is a sample event for a possible four-week series designed to support individuals who are navigating loss, major life changes, or emotional exhaustion related to grief.
Each 60-minute session offers a calm, guided space where participants can explore simple, accessible somatic breathwork practices that support nervous system regulation, emotional release, and a sense of steadiness—without requiring anyone to share their story or relive their loss.
This program is not therapy and does not replace clinical care. Instead, it provides a supportive, body-based complement to traditional grief resources, helping participants experience moments of relief, grounding, and connection as they learn how to carry grief differently over time.
The series is appropriate for adults at any stage of grief who are seeking a non-verbal, experiential way to find support.
This program may be especially supportive for those who have tried therapy or grief support groups and are looking for a different, more body-based way to find relief — without needing to talk everything through.
Registration is required. Participants must arrive before the scheduled start time in order to attend, as late entry can be disruptive to the group experience.
