With more than three decades of academic and professional experience in graphic design, animation, game design, and immersive media, he is recognized for integrating emerging technologies with creative practice and experiential learning. His teaching, research, and creative work focus on innovation at the intersection of design and technology, particularly in virtual reality, augmented reality, photogrammetry, and metaverse development.Price earned an MFA in Multimedia, Animation, and Graphic Design from Virginia Commonwealth University, where his thesis explored Wayfinding in Multimedia, examining navigation in interactive environments. He received his BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Oklahoma and completed professional internships, including with Landor Associates in San Francisco.Throughout his career, Price has held tenured faculty and leadership positions at Virginia Commonwealth University, Oklahoma State University, Sam Houston State University, Oklahoma Christian University, and Oklahoma City University, where he served as Chair and Tenured Professor of Graphic Design, Animation, and Game Design. Since joining UTD in 2022, he has taught courses in game environment design, virtual reality production, and metaverse development while directing research into the educational, industrial, and cultural applications of immersive technologies.As Director of the VAST Lab, Price leads multidisciplinary research in digital twins, immersive training environments, and XR technologies. His work includes collaborations with industry, cultural institutions, and government agencies on metaverse environments, VR training simulators, and photogrammetric reconstructions for cultural heritage preservation.His work has received numerous honors, including Communicator Awards, Graphex Gold Awards, MarCom Awards, and international design and videography recognition. He is also the recipient of the Gaylord Chair of Distinguished Teaching Award at Oklahoma Christian University. Price has presented nationally and internationally on animation, game design, immersive media, and design education, with invited lectures and conference presentations in the United States, Puerto Rico, China, Scotland, and South Korea.In addition to teaching and research, Price has secured competitive grants, including a National Science Foundation Cyberinfrastructure Research Grant focused on information visualization. His expertise includes Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, Blender, RealityCapture, and other industry-standard creative technologies.A dedicated educator and mentor, Price has developed innovative academic programs, esports initiatives, student organizations, and advanced learning environments that prepare graduates for careers in the creative and technology industries.
