Treaties 101 with Jenny Van Sickle

Join us on Tuesday, October 7th for an evening of learning and conversation. Doors will open at 5:30 PM in the Blue Hills Lecture Hall, with hors d’oeuvres served before the program begins at 6:00 PM. This year’s Indigenous Peoples Celebration will feature “Treaties 101” with Jenny Van Sickle, who will share insights into the history, significance, and ongoing impact of treaties in our region and beyond.

Jenny Van Sickle is the Outreach Specialist at the Great Lakes Indian Fish & Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC).  She has been with GLIFWC since 2021, where her education and outreach work focuses on treaty rights, Act 31, and professional development to support educators, students, and communities across Ceded Territory.

She graduated with honors from the University of Maine–Augusta, earning an Associate of Science in Mental Health & Human Service, and went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Social Work at the University of Wisconsin–Superior. 

This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend and take part in this important conversation.
