Við bjóðum upp á spennandi vikunámskeið fyrir 8-9 ára börn (fædd 2016 og 2017) í friðsælu náttúruperlunni Viðey.  Opnað verður fyrir skráningu 29. apríl kl. 11.00 á https://sumar.vala.is

Börnin nema land, upplifa sögu og náttúru eyjarinnar í gegnum skapandi og listrænt starf innan- og utandyra. Þau fá að kynnast gamla skólahúsinu í Viðey sem var hluti af þorpinu sem hvarf. 
Í nýuppgerðu skólahúsinu er sérlega góð aðstaða til tilrauna og rannsókna á gersemum náttúru eyjunnar sem verða notaðar sem efniviður í myndlistarsköpun og leiki. 
Unnið verður sérstaklega með friðarupplifun í gegnum listir, leiki, markvissa útiveru og hreyfingu.

Markmið námskeiðsins er að hver og einn þátttakandi fái að njóta sín á eigin forsendum undir handleiðslu fagfólks. Leitast verður við að skapa ævintýralegt umhverfi fyrir börnin án snjalltækja, þar sem þau munu skapa nýjar minningar í hópi jafningja.

Fjöldi barna er takmarkaður á námskeiðinu, að lágmarki 12 börn og að hámarki 15 börn.

Viðey-Friðey er samstarfsverkefni Borgarsögusafns og Listasafns Reykjavíkur sem hlaut styrk úr Barnamenningarsjóði.

Tímasetning námskeiða:
Námskeið 1: 10. – 13. júní
Námskeið 2: 16. – 20. júní 
Námskeið 3: 23. – 26. júní

Kennarar námskeiðsins taka á móti börnunum við bryggjuna á Skarfabakka og ferjan siglir af stað stundvíslega kl. 09:00 á hverjum morgni. Þess vegna er gott að mæta allavega 15 mínútur fyrr, svo það gefist tími til að spjalla við kennara ef eitthvað er.
Ferjan kemur til baka á Skarfabakka kl. 15:45.

Praktísk atriði:

Börnin þurfa að hafa með sér nesti fyrir daginn (hádegismat, morgun- og síðdegishressingu), skjólgóðan fatnað og góða skó. Gott er að hafa nesti og aukafatnað í bakpoka því það er um 20-30 mínútna gangur frá bryggjunni í Viðey og í skólahúsið þar sem námskeiðið fer að stórum hluta fram.
Heimsókn í Viðey felur í sér töluverða útiveru og gott er að hafa í huga að hvassara getur verið í eynni en á landi. Göngustígar liggja um graslendi sem getur verið blautt og suma dagana verður farið í fjöru. Einnig er nauðsynlegt að börnin komi með inniskó þar sem gólf skólahússins er gróft.
Síðasti frestur til að hætta við skráningu og fá reikning felldan niður er tveimur vikum fyrir upphafsdag námskeiðs.

Have you seen the Imagine Peace Tower on Viðey?

We offer an exciting week-long course for children aged 8–9 (born in 2016 and 2017) in the peaceful natural gem that is Viðey Island. Registration opens at 11:00 on 29 April at https://sumar.vala.is.

The children will explore the island, experience its history and nature through creative and artistic activities both indoors and outdoors. They will get to know the old schoolhouse on Viðey, which was once part of a village that has since disappeared.
The newly renovated schoolhouse offers excellent facilities for experiments and the study of the island’s natural treasures, which will be used as material for artistic creation and play.

Special emphasis will be placed on peace-themed experiences through art, games, structured outdoor activity and movement.

The aim of the course is for each child to thrive in their own way, under the guidance of experienced professionals. We strive to create a magical environment without screens, where children can make new memories among peers.

Places on the course are limited, with a minimum of 12 children and a maximum of 15 per group.

Viðey – Friðey is a collaborative project between the Reykjavík City Museum and the Reykjavík Art Museum, supported by the Icelandic Children’s Culture Fund.

The instructors will meet the children at the pier at Skarfabakki, and the ferry will depart promptly at 09:00 each morning. It is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time to speak with the instructors if needed.
The ferry returns to Skarfabakki at 15:45.

Practical Information:

Children must bring packed food for the day (lunch, morning and afternoon snacks), weather-appropriate clothing and good shoes. A backpack is useful for carrying lunch and extra clothing, as there is a 20–30 minute walk from the Viðey pier to the schoolhouse, where most of the activities take place.

The visit to Viðey includes considerable time outdoors. Keep in mind that it can be windier on the island than on the mainland. Paths cross grassy areas that may be wet, and on some days, the group will explore the shoreline.
Children must also bring indoor shoes, as the schoolhouse floor is rough.

The final deadline to cancel registration and avoid being charged is two weeks before the course start date.
