Á þessum tónleikum, sem bera yfirskriftina Ungir einleikarar, kynnumst við nokkrum af björtustu framtíðarstjörnum íslenskrar tónlistar. Tónleikarnir eru sannkölluð uppskeruhátíð, þar sem sigurvegarar í einleikara- og einsöngskeppni Sinfóníuhljómsveitar Íslands og Listaháskóla Íslands stíga á svið með hljómsveitinni. Andrúmsloftið á þessum tónleikum er jafnan einstakt og eftirvæntingin mikil þegar ungu tónlistarfólki gefst færi á að koma fram með Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands í fyrsta sinn, á glæsilegasta tónleikasviði landsins í Eldborg.
Hljómsveitarstjóri að þessu sinni er hinn svissneski Baldur Brönnimann sem er aðalstjórnandi og listrænn stjórnandi Konunglegu fílharmóníusveitarinnar og tónlistarháskólans í Galisíu á Spáni. Hann leggur mikla áherslu á fræðslustarf og vinnur reglulega með ungu fólki; heldur meistaranámskeið og vinnur með æskulýðshljómsveitum víða um heim.
Einleikarakeppnin fer fram í byrjun árs 2026 og verða nöfn sigurvegaranna birt á vef hljómsveitarinnar þegar úrslit liggja fyrir.

At this concert, entitled Young Soloists, we will meet some of the brightest future stars of Icelandic music. The concert is a true harvest festival, where the winners of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Iceland Academy of the Arts soloist and solo singing competition take the stage with the orchestra. The atmosphere at these concerts is always unique and the anticipation is palpable when young musicians are given the opportunity to perform with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra for the first time, on the country's most impressive concert stage in Eldborg.
Swiss conductor Baldur Brönnimann, who is the principal conductor and artistic director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Conservatory of Galicia in Spain. He places great emphasis on educational work and regularly works with young people; he holds master classes and works with youth orchestras around the world.
The soloist competition will take place in early 2026 and the names of the winners will be published on the orchestra's website when the results are available.
