STAR XVI is a Nordic collaboration developed in Norway and Iceland, inspired by a historical whaling ship operating along the Icelandic coast. Blending movement, sound, and objects, the solo performance explores identity, belonging, and gender roles, set against the backdrop of a maritime environment.

STAR XVI is produced by Scenekraft in collaboration with Icelandic Handbendi and the Queer Archive at the University of Bergen, with support from Arts Council Norway, Rogaland County Municipality, Haugesund Municipality, and the Fund for Freelance Artists.
The Iceland tour is supported by Arts Council Norway, Nordic Culture Point, and the Queer Archive.
The performance premiered in Norway in September 2025.
