The series is curated by Halla Steinunn Stefánsdóttir on the occasion of the Steina: Playback exhibition. All events open the doors to ongoing experiments. Last out is a project which results from a collaboration between Júlía Mogensen and Þóranna Björnsdóttir. They have previously explored the possibilities of the halldorophone (Halldór Úlfarsson's electroacoustic feedback instrument) in dialogue with different spaces. This included creating a piece for the instrument in the Grótta lighthouse. The experience revealed a fascinating foundation for creation where both the instrumentalist and the composer's approach were inevitably influenced by the space's acoustic properties interacting with the halldorophone. 'Untitled' continues this experimentation and investigation into the multifaceted relationship between place and time, performer and instrument. Now Stacco, an innovative electromagnetic instrument that Nicola Privato has been developing in recent years at the Intelligent Instruments Lab, will join the process. Admission with museum ticket.
