The Eliza R. Snow Building on BYU-Idaho’s campus in Rexburg, Idaho.

String players and pianists ages 14-18 are welcome to apply. This camp is designed for string musicians with experience in ensemble playing and technique.

The total cost of tuition is $250. A $50 registration fee applies toward this amount, leaving a remaining balance of $200, due by Saturday, May 23.

Submit a free application/audition at the link below. Upon acceptance (based on your audition), a non-refundable $50 registration fee is due by Saturday, May 16. Once your fee is received, you will be fully registered, and your music will be sent to you.

Please prepare and record both of the following and upload to YouTube. Submission instructions are included in the Google application form.
• A fast movement of a concerto or sonata
• A piece of your choice
No audition is required for piano participants.

No, this is a day-camp only. Participants must arrange their own transportation to and from campus each day.

The only meal provided will be dinner the first evening (Thursday, June 4). Students should bring their own lunches. Food is available for purchase in the BYU-Idaho Manwaring Student Center.

Yes. Students are expected to adhere to BYU-Idaho’s dress and honor code. https://www.byui.edu/student-honor-office/ces-honor-code#:~:text=CES%20Dress%20and%20Grooming%20Expectations&text=Dressing%20in%20a%20way%20that,extreme%20clothing%20is%20not%20acceptable.

Yes. Please bring your instrument, extra strings, bow, rosin, and a pencil.

Yes! There will be several performances: 
• Chamber Ensemble Concert - Saturday morning 
• Piano Recital - Saturday afternoon
• Final Orchestra Concert - Saturday afternoon

• Instrument (and all necessary accessories if applicable)
• Pencil
• Camp music (sent to you upon registration)
• Water bottle and snacks
• Phones/devices (if brought, it should be turned off and left in your instrument case during rehearsals)
• Performance clothes on Saturday

Once accepted, music will be sent to you. Please have it learned before arriving on the first day of camp.

Yes, on the first day of camp. Audition excerpts will be marked in the music sent to you.

You may cancel at any time by emailing the camp director at horrockskr@byui.edu. However, the $50 registration fee is non-refundable. Due to financial commitments made on behalf of the camp, we cannot offer refunds after May 30, 2026. Thank you for your understanding.

No, scholarships and financial aid options are not available this year.

Yes. 
• Women: All black, ¾-length sleeves, ankle-length skirt or dress pants, black hose, and black dress shoes. 
• Men: Black tuxedo or dress suit with black bow tie, black socks, and black dress shoes.

• Morning: Chamber ensemble rehearsals
