Interested in becoming an ACC Columbia Mountains summer hiking or scrambling leader? Join us for a fly-in leadership development weekend in the spectacular North Tilley Lakes area.

This weekend is designed for prospective and newer volunteer leaders looking to build experience leading hiking and moderate scrambling trips within the Section. Participants will spend two full days in the field exploring a variety of hiking and 3rd/4th class scrambling objectives in a supportive mentorship environment led by experienced ACC volunteer leaders.

The group will helicopter into a backcountry basecamp on Friday evening, allowing for two full days of mountain travel before flying out Sunday evening. Objectives may include routes around North Tilley Lakes, Mount English, Tilley Bump, and the West Ridge of Tilley, depending on conditions and participant experience.

This is not an alpine climbing leadership program. The focus will be on developing confidence, judgment, group management, route planning, and movement skills for summer hiking and scrambling trips.

Participants should be comfortable travelling in alpine terrain and have prior scrambling experience. This is a volunteer-led, self-supported camp environment.

Trip Highlights:

Small group sizes and hands-on learning environment
