If emotions are not expressed, the energy is repressed. As energy it has to go somewhere. And the energy of the sacral chakra is connected to our emotions, creativity, sensuality and sacred sexuality. It also governs the health of our reproductive and urinary systems. 

When the natural state of a healthy, open sacral chakra is blocked, we can become numb to our emotional fluidity, often our physical body contracts. This contracted state has the potential to deaden passion and desire, both sexually and in other areas of life. Allowing repressed emotions such as sadness, shame, or fear to move through our bodies can be a very cathartic experience. In Chakradance, as the body softens and movements unfold, we can experience the freedom to open to the flow of all our emotions, the joyful as well as the painful. As we become more attuned to inner feelings, passion, desire and pleasure can become a part of everyday life, integrated in a natural balance.

Sometimes the sacral chakra is excessive in energy - this can result in extreme moodiness and over-sensitivity to others which can manifest in states of crisis or a constant craving for excitement and stimulation. Gentle movement and going within can guide us into an inner calm where emotions are experienced in a more balanced way.

'Restricted bodies' stop us from letting go of the old pain physically; and emotionally, we'll find it challenging to 'let go' in other areas of our lives too. Your whole life becomes restricted. Conversely, releasing the holding in the body ripples out into emotional release; finding freedom of expression in our bodies, finding freedom in other aspects of our lives too. Therapies, talking etc can help to make a start to release this energy, and Chakradance can help to fully discharge the 'holding', which is a vital (and often overlooked) step in the process.

Each time we release another trapped feeling from our bodies, we let go of an old pattern. Freed up to be more present in the moment. We feel more alive.

This is a 2 hour session and some light refreshments are included. Also includes a small gift & base-chakra handout for further practice guidance. No need to bring anything but yourself in loose fitting, comfortable clothing. You can bring a cosy blanket, if you like, and a bottle of water.
