There are immense job creation and economic development opportunities for Nevada associated with the electrification of transportation across the nation and world. Key examples include mining and processing lithium, copper, and other minerals needed to electrify transportation; battery manufacturing; lithium ion battery recycling, all of which is well underway in Nevada with extensive growth needed for the nation and world to meet climate and national security goals. The conference will highlight some of the new federal grant opportunities pursuant to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act that can accelerate the deployment of additional green transportation options as well as substantially increase the economic viability of clean energy projects. Nevada's businesses and government agencies can both take advantage of significant new incentives for clean energy and transportation projects that will cut their operating costs as well as reducing air pollution. Many of Nevada's public and private sector leaders will be participating in this conference; new contacts, networking opportunities and information exchange all add considerable value to attendees. There will also be a showcase of electric vehicles the afternoon of Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, then a mixer for conference attendees billed as the first of several "High Voltage Nights" planned that will add excitement and an additional networking opportunity for clean energy and transportation enthusiasts. A clean energy forum will also be held Friday, Feb. 3, 2023 at the University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center.
