She was born in Owyhee, Nevada and is a member of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation where she spent most of her youth. She holds a BA in Secondary Education from Boise State University. She earned an MA in Educational Leadership &amp; Higher Education and an MS In Human Development and Family Science both from University of Nevada, Reno. Upon her return to graduate school in 2023, she was named a Dean’s Graduate Fellow when she returned to work on her PhD.
