Writers Group Speed Dating is speed dating for writers groups.

If a gathering of wizards is collectively known as an argument, and a group of lapwings is a deceit, what do you call a group of writers? Answer: when you form your new group, you can decide! One of the most frequent pieces of advice a writer receives is, “Join a writers’ group. Get some eyes on your work.” Join dee Hobsbawn-Smith to learn about creating writing groups and have the chance to meet other writers who want to form a group. A fountainpen of writers. A memory chip of memoirists. Maybe a persnickety of poets…

Whatever you call it, the benefits of joining a writing group are huge. Here are a few reasons you should consider joining a writing group:

• Inspiration
• Motivation
• Constructive Criticism
• Guidance
• Support and Encouragement
• Networking

Through traditional “speed dating” techniques of one on one conversation a few minutes at a time, this session will help create connections and networks for what may become your own writing group. Let the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild help to bring you together!

This session will be facilitated by dee Hobsbawn-Smith.
