Regina has many parks and open spaces more than any Canadian city. The Wascana Lake is the beautiful parkland surrounding the lake, ideal for morning- evening jogs, walks, cycling, kayaking, and boat tours in Regina. There is no swimming in the lake, but boating or other paddle sports are allowed. The Kiwanais Waterfall Park is a hidden gem, with beautiful waterfall hidden in the trees. The sports lovers can go to Douglas Park. It houses the Canada Games Athletic Complex and also Liebel Field.
Regina with its beautiful parklands is home to many public golf courses. Some famous golf courses are the Royal Regina, the Wascana Golf, and the Country Club. Joanne Goulet, the Murray, and the Tor Hill are municipal or no-membership golf courses. Regina’s surrounding area is famous for championship golf courses at Deer Estates and Emerald Park.
Regina has many fun activities for the people who like outdoor activities but not into adventure sports. The Candy Cane Park is famous for its state-of-the-art play structures in its all-ages play area with its candy- caned striped trees. One can enjoy a day trip in surrounding areas of Regina with family and kids. Regina beach is famous for enjoying and relaxing along with several other beach communities on the Last Mountain Lake. Fort Qu’Appelle has been a famous summer getaway. It has many shallow lakes, lined with rows of boat houses and cottages. Rouleau is a neighboring small town of Regina. It became famous after being used as a filming location. Rouleau, the town of Lumsden, Moose jaw are perfect for short day trips from Regina.
