This two-hour taster session introduces Hilary Thorn’s gentle, guided approach to using simple creative exercises to help settle the nervous system and make space for how you’re feeling during menopause, when emotions can feel unpredictable, intense, or difficult to articulate.
This session and the subsequent course offers a calm, supportive space to explore simple tools that many people find settling and grounding and when you have learned them you can use and adapt them for yourself at home. Using paper, colour, and movement, you’ll be guided through a series of process-based art practices designed to help you slow down, notice what’s happening in your body, and put feelings somewhere outside yourself. The focus isn’t on making finished artwork, but on the experience itself.
You don’t need any art experience, and there’s no pressure to produce anything or share more than you want to. Many of the exercises are done with eyes closed or lowered, helping you focus on sensation rather than appearance.
The taster also gives you a chance to experience Hilary’s approach before deciding whether to join the full five-week course starting in April. Her 5 week course in April goes into much more depth, giving you a set of creative tools as well as time and space to nurture yourself through this often difficult period.
If you decide to book onto the full course after this session Hilary will give you a £25.00 discount code for your booking.
