This workshop is the first in the lineup of our Beading Basics Series (B.B.S.)! It first provides a foundation in basic beading concepts and then focuses specifically on our magical, clasp-less, all-time favorite stringing material: memory wire!

*Logistics:

-Date: Saturday 06/13/2026
-Time: 5pm – 7pm PST
-Location: Landscape Inspired Gallery at 8159 161st Ave NE in Redmond, Washington.

*What’s Included:

-two hours of guided instruction in a group setting (1-12 people) at Landscape Inspired Gallery in Redmond, WA
-customized take-home “cheat sheets” on beading basics by Anastasiya, founder of Landscape Inspired Jewelry and Landscape Inspired Gallery
-use of our jewelry tools (pliers and cutters) and stringing materials (memory wire) during the workshop
-a $30 materials voucher for our semi-precious stone beads (voucher to be redeemed during your selected workshop date and time, any unused amount expires at the end of your selected workshop)

*Workshop Structure:

-Learn (20 minutes)

This section is when we go over basic beading concepts to build a shared vocabulary for us to work with and to understand the options available to us as we progress through the class. We’ll broadly cover:

--assorted bead materials, shapes, and sizes
--different stringing materials
--various clasps and findings as well as their pros and cons

-Practice (30 minutes)

This section is when we get hands on practice with our tools and materials and interact with premade bracelets of different configurations to identify common quirks/ pitfalls. Specifically, we’ll aim to:

--get familiar with handling pliers and memory wire, specifically with cutting memory wire and making end loops
--string different types and sizes of beads (chips, small round, and large round), note the effect they have on a bracelet’s size and what kinds of beads are unsuitable for memory wire
--test pre-made bracelets of different wire lengths and numbers of bracelet loops, note the effect they have on how well the bracelet sits on one’s arm

-Create (60 minutes)

--This is the “freeplay” time where you select your beading materials and create some beaded jewelry!
--Use your $30 materials voucher to select bead strands from our beloved semi-precious stone bead wall to use for the workshop
--Choose one of two main paths (you can go back and forth between the two or follow a hybrid approach too):
---Follow prepared written and oral instructions to recreate Anastasiya’s beaded bracelet and necklace designs
---Go off on your own to turn your artistic vision into a reality

-Wrap Up (10 minutes)

This is the last phase of the workshop where we make final changes to our beaded jewelry, get guidance on future projects, pack up your bead strands to take home, etc. This is also the last time slot to use up your $30 materials voucher before it expires at the end of the workshop.
