- **Event Name**: An Evening of Komitas: Divine Music and Spiritual Heritage
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 06 Dec, 2025 at 05:00 pm – Sat, 06 Dec, 2025 at 08:00 pm
- **Event Description**: Once again, we warmly invite everyone to join us for this celebration of music and poetry dedicated to our great Komitas!
Below you’ll find the detailed list of performers and program pieces, but here is a brief outline of what awaits you:

Our beloved Ter Hayr will open the event with a blessing, setting the spiritual tone of the evening. The prayer will gently flow into a performance by our Church Choir, led by our exceptional conductor Varser Sargsyan, with the breathtaking “Lord, Have Mercy” composed by Komitas himself.

Next, we will have a Poetry Segment, prepared by our own “Queen of Poetry” (and of the Armenian House:)), Hasmik Meliksetyan.

Following this, our wonderfully talented children will perform various works by the great composer, culminating in a performance by the Armenian School Choir, conducted by Anna Khachatryan and Silva Ghazaryan, Director of the School.

As the culmination of the evening, our Choir Organist—and the Director of the entire program—Armine Naghdyan, together with her sister Anahit Nagdyan, will present absolutely NEW pieces by Komitas, never before performed in our community. Do not miss this moment!

Several choir members and outstanding artists from our community will also contribute their gifts to enrich this beautiful occasion.

And one more thing…

We truly hope for a chamber, reverent, church-like atmosphere: without applause, without announcements—just one continuous meditation and one continuous prayer from beginning to end. One single breath.

Please come, and let us experience this miracle together!
See you soon, our dear and wonderful community!

Komitas (1869–1935), the revered Armenian priest, composer, and ethnomusicologist, is often hailed as the father of modern Armenian music for his extraordinary role in collecting, preserving, and elevating centuries-old folk and liturgical traditions. His sacred compositions—deeply rooted in Armenian chant—brought unparalleled clarity, purity, and a distinctly national character to church music, bridging ancient spirituality with modern artistic expression. For our Church, his legacy holds profound significance: Komitas not only safeguarded Armenia’s sacred melodies from oblivion but also revealed their universal depth and spiritual resonance. His works remain a timeless source of inspiration and a cornerstone of both Armenian and world sacred music.

Join us for an evening of his divine music, performed by a talented group of our local musicians and singers, as we celebrate the enduring beauty and spiritual power of Komitas’s legacy.

? Concert: 5:00–7:00 PM
