Join Mark Billingham and Abir Mukherjee as they discuss crime and thrillers and the long and often difficult road of writing!

About this Event

An evening of light hearted conversation between Abir Mukherjee, award winning author of the Wyndham & Banerjee novels and Mark Billingham the creator of the bestselling Tom Thorne and Detective Miller novels. Mark and Abir will talk about crime fiction and thrillers, and the arduous journey to becoming best selling novelists.

There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions and books will be on sale at the end of the session.

  • There is a charge of Β£8 per ticket
  • Booking is essential, so be quick to avoid disappointment

About the Authors

Mark Billingham

Mark Billingham was born and brought up in Birmingham. Having worked for some years as an actor and more recently as a TV writer and stand-up comedian his first crime novel was published in 2001.

Sleepyhead was an instant bestseller in the UK. It has been sold widely throughout the world and was published in the USA in the summer of 2002. There are currently 19 books in the series of crime novels featuring London-based detective Tom Thorne, the latest of which is What the Night Brings.

Abir Mukherjee

Abir Mukherjee is the Times bestselling author of the Wyndham & Banerjee series of crime novels set in Raj-era India which have sold over 400,000 copies worldwide and been translated into 15 languages. At this event he will talk about his latest novel The Burning Grounds set in 1920s Calcutta. Disgraced detective Sam Wyndham is invesigating the brutal M**der of a much-loved philanthropist, while his former colleague Surendranath Banerjee is searching for a missing photographer. When the cases prove to be linked the two detectives must work together, but can they put aside their differences to solve the case?
