ABOUT THE SHOW
After the hugely successful launch of her new album ‘Persephone’ in Melbourne in February, Wendy is making a return trip to Australia from her current home town of Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, to bring a more intimate version of her critically acclaimed show to Sydney’s Seymour Centre (Sound Lounge, Sydney University).
Performing every song from her 24 track double album, Wendy will be taking the audience on a journey through the Ancient Greek myth of the Goddess Persephone’s descent into the Underworld and the subsequent grief of her mother Demeter, the Goddess of the Grain.
Singing in the roles of the Goddesses Persephone, Demeter and Hekate (with Hekate’s parts chanted in Greek!), Wendy will be joined on stage by her band - Elissa Goodrich on Vibraphone and Percussion, Rachel Samuel on Cello, and Timothy Van Diest on synth and guitar.
Renowned for her extraordinary and otherworldly voice, Wendy’s live performances blur the line between music, myth and ritual. This very special event is a night not to be missed.
