A Temazcal is an ancient sweat lodge ritual used for purification, prayer, and rebirth. Recordings are almost never permitted—but once the Shaman understood our intention to create a journey that raises awareness and honors sacred healing, he allowed us to capture the ceremony using our 9D microphone. Because this is a sacred ritual, the Shaman took special precautions to protect its energetic integrity—such as choosing not to invoke spirits, in accordance with the belief that spirit energies can become trapped in recordings.While 9DMT was born through this ceremonial lens, it’s not limited to any one tradition.
