Celebrate Roxanne’s 4th birthday at YWS with a creative afternoon led by local artist Janice Polzin as you paint our incredible North American badger.
Before the event, you have the option to join a private tour at 1:00 PM to meet some of our amazing resident animals. This is a great opportunity to learn their stories and get inspired before picking up your paintbrush. If you’d like to join, check in at the gift shop when you arrive.
At 1:45 PM, check in at the gift shop and head to the Education Building to get set up. Then at 2:00 PM, the Paint & Sip fun begins. Janice, a magnificent artist in Carbon County, is the talent behind many of Red Lodge’s beautiful murals, including the one on our badger enclosure at Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary.
This special event shines a spotlight on Roxanne, who has been part of the YWS family since she was just six weeks old. Roxanne’s mother was killed by a rancher, which is unfortunately not uncommon in the West. She was later found in her den at only a few days old and taken to Montana Wild for rehabilitation. Because she became habituated to human care, she could not be released back into the wild.
Don’t miss this chance to create a one of a kind BADGER masterpiece to take home. It’s the perfect way to support local wildlife and enjoy a fun, art filled afternoon.
