Workshop Overview

Domestic abuse doesn’t begin with violence — it begins with beliefs. In too many Christian homes, intimate-partner abuse remains unseen and misunderstood. According to Statistics Canada, nearly 80% of people who experience intimate-partner abuse never report it, leaving most cases hidden from the very people who could help.

This half-day training equips pastors, ministry and small-group leaders, Christian counsellors, social workers, and caring believers to bring light, understanding, and a practical faith-based response to those affected by abuse.

You’ll Learn To

·        • Recognize early red flags and subtle warning signs of abuse

·        • Identify the tactics and motivations behind angry, controlling, and abusive behavior

·        • Understand God’s heart for protecting the vulnerable and restoring safety of mind, body and spirit 

·        • Support loved ones without causing further harm

·        • Hold the partner who chooses to abuse accountable for their own growth and repentance while giving them the support they need to make different choices in their relationships

·        • Replace cultural myths about abuse with biblical truth and compassion

About the Facilitators

Roy Mitton and Tiffany Mitton, founders of Masquerade Ministries, Freedom from Domestic Abuse Through Hope and Grace, the Domestic Abuse Intervention Outreach of Your Thriving Family, are Certified Domestic Abuse Interventionists, Certified Flourishing Relationship Coaches, and Licensed Ministers with Commission Ministry Network. Together they have spent more than 16 years helping individuals, couples, and families build safer, Christ-centred relationships.
