T4P 3K6 PLEASE NOTE: This clinic is being conducted for the screening of congenital or acquired heart disease in breeding stock only. No medical advice will be given to treat any suspected medical condition or to check the progression of a previously diagnosed condition. Registration Opens: Monday, July 13, 2026, at 7:00 pm MDT (any registration received before this date will be rejected). Registration Deadline: August 8, 2026, or when all spaces are filled. Full Clinic: A waiting list will be taken through the DogShow.ca only. Echo Cost: $320.00 per dog prior to/on the registration deadline. Contact Cindy or Karen regarding appointment availability after the deadline. *NEW* * Any person bringing a dog over 70 lbs. (31.75 kg) MUST have an assistant with them to help lift the dog onto & restrain the dog while on the cardiac table. All echo exams will take place on the table regardless of the size of the dog. If you show up to your appointment without an assistant, the exam will not take place. Please have a backup in case your original person is unable to make it. If you know in advance that your assistant is not available & you can’t find a replacement, please contact us to cancel the appointment. If you are unable to take your dog to the scheduled appointment due to any unexpected conflicts, please make sure the person bringing the dog for you has an assistant if the dog is over 70 lbs. (31.75 kg) or a dog that is difficult to restrain. Keep in mind that any assistant you choose will be privy to confidential information during your dog's exam. * Health Protocols: You are no longer required to wear a mask at your appointment. However, if you feel unwell & have active symptoms, please notify Cindy upon your arrival for your appointment. Everyone in the room will be required to wear a mask for their protection. If you feel that you are contagious, please email us at the clinic email drluisbrazruivoab@gmail.com before your appointment date. Your appointment will be canceled & a refund will be given as soon as possible after the final day of the clinic. If you entered through DogShow.ca, you will be refunded, but the fees charged for using their service will not be refunded. We will have sanitizer available for those who would like to sanitize their hands upon entering & leaving your appointment * Housekeeping: Please make sure your dog's nails are trimmed & ground to smooth out rough edges. This will help prevent injury to the cardiologist when he does assist in turning the dog on the table. * Tips to help make the exam go more smoothly for the dog & those holding the dog: - Please train your dog to lay on its side on a table. - Teach your dog to accept being restrained. - Train your dog to be on its back as it will be turned on the table while being on its back. * Dr. Braz-Ruivo does not do echocardiogram exams on cats at his clinics. * Dr. Braz-Ruivo does not see dogs with a pre-existing diagnosis from a regular vet at his clinics. He may be seeing these cases at a local veterinary clinic if there is demand for appointments. * Should we need to cancel the clinic for any reason, a full refund would be given if you entered directly through the clinic. If you entered through DogShow.ca, you will be refunded but the fees to enter using their service would not be refunded. * Upon arrival at the clinic, please stay away from the door until the cardiologist or organizer calls you into the exam room. * Once your dog is off the table from its exam, please maintain a physical distance of 6 feet/2 meters while inside the building. * Appointments will be scheduled according to travel time. Those who live within 1 ½ hours of Red Deer will get the earlier time slots unless requested by those traveling a greater distance.
