But what is it that makes fairy tales so timeless? And how can they be reimagined in the modern day? Join us to explore the core elements of fairy tale stories and have a go at creating your own fictional folktales, full of larger than life characters and vivid descriptions! This workshop is open to any young writers between 11-17 years old, with both experienced writers and total beginners welcome.This workshop will be led by Alex Baker, the founder and group leader of teen creative writing club Igniting Writing. Alex is a volunteer at Wokingham Library, where he set Igniting Writing up in 2014 with the goal of bringing young writers together to develop their creative writing and make friends in a fun, relaxed group setting. In the years since Igniting Writing sessions began, he has worked with thousands of young writers and been invited to lead creative writing taster sessions in dozens of schools, youth clubs and libraries across Berkshire.
