The group brings people who enjoy making together to share craft skills and benefit from spending time with each other and enjoying making with their hands.Mother Tongue is open to women with English as an additional language.Come with your own craft project or don't bring anything at all and be inspired what materials and skills are on hand within the group. Each term a group project is set and you can decide to take part or work on your own craft.Yarn, materials and needles are available and participants are also welcome to bring their own.This term's group/community project is knitting items for the Royal Berkshire Hospital - Voluntary Services.Mother Tongue welcomes all skill levels welcome from beginner to experienced. This is not a taught workshop although the group is alway very happy to share their craft skills and knowledge.You do not need to commit to coming every week. Drop in anytime between 10am and 11.30am any Wednesday during term time.To allow our workshops to be accessible to all we are able to offer our workshops for a nominal fee and we have a limited number of free places for each session. If you are able we have created different pay grades or an option to donate. We are the last unit before the toilets and exit to the carpark. If you get lost please ask any Broad St Mall security guard and they will direct you.Sometimes our workshops take place in the community. Be sure to check the address on your ticket.What if I cannot make my Mother Tongue session, I am going to be late or need to leave early?You do not have to attend every week. Drop in anytime between 10am and 11.30am. Be sure to check the date when you able to return as Mother Tongue only runs during the school term times (Mother Tongue does not run during the School Holidays and School Half Term Holidays)If I cannot make my paid workshop, can I transfer my ticket to another event or get a refund?Mother Tongue relies on donations and when booking your space their is a option to donate. Our free community workshops and festival workshops are often made possible due to funding by the organisers. These workshops are popular and run at capacity.
