- **Event Description**: Documentary maker Anna Snowball leads a neurodivergent-friendly workshop, combining filmed and physical materials to make digital collages.About this EventAn experimental filmmaking workshop led by documentary filmmaker Anna Snowball, inviting neurodivergent participants to create a digital collage that explores their sensory world, combining hands-on making with simple filming techniques. What to expect:During the session, participants will create a physical collage background using a series of optional prompts from the workshop facilitator, working with paper, colour, images, words or numbers that reflect their sensory preferences and interests. Participants are welcome to bring their own collage materials, such as magazines, copies of photos, or printed images and references for the creation of the physical backgrounds. All activities can also be completed using materials provided. One by one, participants will work with the facilitator to film some of their small or large stims (repetitive self-soothing or sensory-seeking movements or behaviours) in front of a green screen. These movements will then be digitally cut out, looped and layered using simple editing software.Their backgrounds and filmed movements will then be combined to create short digital pieces that will be sent to participants via email shortly after the session. Each participant will own their digital piece and can choose whether or not to share it. All filmed material on camera and within the editing software will be deleted after the workshop.Access Notes:This is an inclusive workshop that welcomes neurodivergent people (diagnosed, self-diagnosed or undiagnosed), as well as neurotypical participants who are interested in exploring their own sensory profiles. No participant is required to share anything about their diagnosis or medical history. The emphasis is on experimentation, self-expression and creating a supportive space where participants are encouraged to unmask and share their unique ways of being. The workshop will take place with a maximum of 8 participants. The physical making element of the workshop can be as messy or clean as participants want, as they can self-select materials. Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. While every effort will be made to create a calm and welcoming environment, the sensory elements of the space cannot be fully controlled. Participants are encouraged to bring anything they need to support themselves during the session. Please share any access requirements in advance and we will do our best to accommodate them. This workshop is for adults. Ages 16 plus are welcome if attending with an adultAbout the artistAnna Snowball is a documentary filmmaker based in Berkshire who tells stories about underdogs chasing and achieving impossible dreams.
