Join us for a community "meal" workshop! This workshop is designed to help parents & caregivers foster open communication with their child throughout their life using the model of the Family Dinner Project and Eat Together Kennebec. Research has found that family meals, and family conversations, can lead to better academic performance, lower risk of depression, lower rates of obesity, and lower risk of substance abuse among youth. For parents/caregivers, it is associated with better nutrition, lower risk of depression, and increased self-esteem! 

Light refreshments will be provided at this FREE workshop, facilitated by staff from Healthy Communities of the Capital Area (Anna Pellerin, Substance Use Prevention Coordinator; Isabelle Stevens, Tobacco Prevention Coordinator; and Sarah Young, Healthy Eating & Active Living Coordinator). While parents are participating in the workshop, we will have games, puzzles, and crafts available for the kids and teens, if they want to come along. Event will be held Tuesday April 28 from 6-7:00pm at the Library.
