About the event

Make your own 30cm drum lampshade
Come and have a fun afternoon, making your own lampshade with this 2.5/3 hour, relaxed and friendly drum lampshade making workshop 🙂
This class is perfect for beginners who want to learn contemporary lampshade making. You'll learn the skills needed to attach the fabric to the pre-cut panel provided, how to attach the rings to the panel and finish the edges, You will be making a 30cm diameter fabric lampshade which you can use on a lamp base or ceiling pendant. You then get to go home with your very own bespoke lampshade 🙂
Price includes all tools for the class apart from fabric, which you will need to bring with you. The fabric can match your home decor or own personal style, ironed if possible. (If you are struggling with fabric choices, let me help you find something suitable).
Please bring a cotton or polycotton....no silky fabric, no thick fabric like Tweed or velvet and no stretchy material please. Also nothing too expensive, as you are going to be making this yourself and this is a beginners class. Hopefully you can go on to make more, with confidence wirh other fabric once you have learned the basics. For a 30cm size lampshade you will need a minimum of 110cm length x 30cm width of fabric. Think about a non directional fabric pattern. Feel free to bring a larger piece of fabric and we can discuss pattern placement on the day. You can give me a call if there is anything you wish to discuss, on 07508 223368.

Thinner fabrics let more light through, giving a soft glow, though the pattern may be somewhat lost. Darker, thicker fabrics don't and make for a moodier feel.

The workshop is £45 per person. This includes all materials needed to make your shade (bring your own material or you can purchase this on the day with prior agreement). Tea and coffee and biscuits and cake will be included in the price.

Places are limited to 6 per class so I can offer plenty of 1 to 1 assistance.
The workshop begins at 12 noon and finishes around 3pm.

So, if you fancy this then please contact me to book your place on 07508 223368 or message the page. I look forward to teaching you this fabulous and very addictive skill 🙂
payment must be made in full when booking.
